The House on Monday defeated a $700 billion emergency rescue package, ignoring urgent pleas from President Bush and bipartisan congressional leaders to quickly bail out the staggering financial industry.

I saw this on TV and the McCain of old was at this rally. He was on this day the McCain who was fair and honest. Most people who would have voted for McCain turned on him because of Palin and McCain resulted to race baiting and using unwarranted fear tactics he said he would never stoop so low to use. I was very moved by his statements. The hatred that I have seen on TV and in the Internet blogs bring nothing but shame to what is suppose to be the greatest country in the world. I was a McCain supporter because I believed he deserved a chance. He was robbed of the republican nomination by the dirty tactics of Bush in 2000. All you people who voted proudly for your current president pat yourselves on the back. We are the most hated country in the world and headed to total bankruptcy. People when you vote chose the individual who you truly feel is the right candidate. Study the newspaper, TV, and go to the various fact check sites. If your a fan of fox that is a ultra conservative view so turn to MSNBC or CNN and get a liberal view. Put both views together after checking facts for yourself. We are suppose to be an educated nation and the days of voting along party lines is a very asinine idea. Whether you want to believe it or not both candidates are liars and so are their vice presidential picks. I have not truly made up my mind as of yet. I feel McCain of old was a some what fair person. His choice for vice-president just like Obama is to young. Which leaves only a third party candidate to vote for. The problem with that is no president can accomplish much without the support of at least one of the houses of congress. How do I vote for an individual who is approaching 80 and the other who is wet behind the ear? I want to vote for the individual who benefits the country as a whole. This is the most thought pervoking election in my life time. I'm educated and have voted across party lines. I have been registered as a republican, democrat, conservative, liberal, independant, and so forth. I have voted for candidates under the various parties within the same election. No matter who becomes our president only a fool will believe their taxes will not go up. Somebody has to cover the 800 billion bailout.
